Even the most competent workers, run into problems.

It goes without saying that monuments installed over a century ago must be handled with extreme care. Unfortunately, hidden pins, lead, and countless other unique fixation techniques make lifting these old statues unpredictable at best.

Recently a statue had to be taken down from its 30-foot pedestal to be repaired after a savage act of vandalism. It is believed the vandal used a sledge hammer to litterally and figurativly deface the century soldier. Additional damage included the complete removal of the brim of the hat, hands and rifle.

Unfortunately during the process of moving this granite soldier, the legs were fractured and ultimately broke off completely, adding substantially to the scope and cost of the repair.

The crew tasked with moving the monument was extremely qualified, with years of experience working with monuments of all sizes and shapes, proving that even the most competent workers, run into problems.

MonumenD has developed proprietary tools to eliminate the unpredictability of hidden fixation and techniques designed to mitigate the risks inherent in moving these irreplaceable monuments.
