REIMAGINE not ERASE.

Before we ERASE history, shouldn’t we consider “Reimagining” the value of these century-old peices of Art.

Controversial statues risk being deleted. If the alternative is “Tear it down” perhaps an updated message should be considered. Though debated by some historians, there are many who believe the original focus of these monuments was to mourn losses, “heal” a defeat and symbolize the welcoming of the war-torn South back into the good graces of the United States. Can these beautifully constructed pieces of history be saved by accentuating the healing theme, but also adding additional inclusive messaging focused on promoting “healing” for those who seek to “heal” today?
